PatChat

A little company. A helping hand.

Say hello to
a brighter day.

A familiar voice for everyday questions, a bit of fun and a little company. Meet Pat, the simple tabletop companion we’re creating for Australian homes.

Get to know Pat

Thoughtfully simple. Comfortably familiar.

A simple tabletop companionYou speak. Pat speaks back.Made with Australian homes in mind

The everyday, a little brighter

A question. A chuckle.
A good old yarn.

From a curious question to a quiet afternoon, here’s a taste of the conversations we’re building Pat for.

Choose a sample conversation

You could say

“Hey Pat, why is the sky blue?”

Sunlight contains all sorts of colours. The air scatters blue light more than red, spreading that lovely blue across the sky.

Illustrative conversations, not a live chat. Pat is currently in development.

Right at home.

A simple idea, built around everyday life.

01

A place at your table

We’re designing a small, standalone device that feels at home on your desk, side table or kitchen bench.

02

Start with “Hey Pat”

Ask a question in your own words. The idea is simple: speak naturally, and hear a friendly answer back.

03

See where the chat goes

A story, a quiz or something new to try. A little conversation can bring a welcome spark to your day.

A few things to know

Curious about Pat?

We’re taking care over the little things that make a companion easy to use.

Is Pat a phone or tablet app?

Pat is being designed as a standalone tabletop device that you talk to. The focus is a simple spoken experience, rather than navigating a phone or tablet.

Who is Pat for?

Anyone who would enjoy a bit of conversation, everyday help and something interesting to do. We’re designing with older Australians in mind, including people who prefer to keep technology simple.

Will Pat need the internet?

Yes. The planned service uses an internet connection for conversation and up-to-date information, such as the weather. We’ll share the connection and setup details as development progresses.

Can I buy one yet?

Not just yet. PatChat is in development. We’ll share the final features, pricing and availability here when they’re ready.

How will privacy work?

Voice privacy is part of the design work still ahead. Before Pat becomes available, we’ll explain when it listens, what information is stored and the controls you’ll have.

Something friendly is on its way

There’s always room
for a little good company.

We’re getting Pat ready for a place at your table.
More to share soon.
